And all praise to God that He did! Amen! After more than four hundred years of heavenly silence, now – at last, the time was right. Four hundred years – the gap between the Old and the New Testaments. A period when a lot happened of a secular and political nature, but no word from Heaven. Then “when the fullness of time had come” heaven opened and the Saviour came. As John puts it in chapter one of his Gospel, verse fourteen, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth”.
Let’s all take encouragement this Christmas and beyond: “For unto us a son is born, unto us a child is given. And the government shall be on His shoulders. And He shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” – Isaiah 9:6.
Today, in every one of our lives, Jesus is everything Isaiah’s prophetic word said He would be. He has indeed “…delivered us from the powers of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of His dear Son” – Colossians 1:13.
Be blessed,
Eddie.
