It is really very simple. You need not spend a fortune on “How to do it” books or on attending exciting-sounding ‘conferences! The fact is it’s all in the Bible. All we have to do is read it and believe it.
Take for example these dynamic words found in Psalm 37v23 “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and he (i.e. the Lord) delights in his (i.e. the man) way. Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down for the Lord upholds him with his hand”
What could be simpler?
1. Be good! Good man, good woman, good young person. Find out what God expects of us by reading His Word. There is advice, and commands, for every one of life’s situations. King David said “Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” Ps.119v105. He also said “How can a young man keep his life clean? By taking heed to your Word” Ps. 119v9.
2. Take steps! Yes – keep going in the right direction. Paul said “I take hold of what Christ took hold of me for” Phil. 3v12. These days you ask someone how they’re doing and they say “I’m getting there!” That’s fine as long as you know where you’re going. The situation you are in right now may not be so good, but it can be a stepping stone in your life to teach you God’s ways. Stick it out and see it through. One step at a time.
3. Don’t let a temporary setback become a permanent blockage! In other words, you may be knocked down but you’re not knocked out. You will not be ‘utterly cast down’ because the Lord, your Lord, the one who died and rose again for you, will ‘uphold you with his hand’. That’s the truth. Live in it and love it. Speak it and sing it. Stand up and declare it. He that has begun a good work in you WILL COMPLETE IT. Phil.1v 6
Blessings on your day
