We can all say a loud AMEN to that. Let’s be sure about it; heaven is a real place. Jesus called it His “Father’s house”. He said, “In My Father’s house are many mansions, if it were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you” John 14:2. Through the Bible – God’s word to us, there are many recorded occasions where people have seen heaven. For example; Isaiah saw heaven. He says in Chapter six; “I saw the Lord high and lifted up and His robe filled the Temple…”. Stephen, the church’s first martyr saw the Lord when he was being stoned to death. Acts 7:55 “But he, being full of the Holy Spirit gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God”.
Yes – to be sure; Heaven is a real place. Jesus came from there. He said: “For I have come down from heaven, not to do my will, but to do the will of him that sent me” John 6:38. He came from there, He went back there, and He’s coming back from there! I Thessalonians 4:17 says “The Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout and with the voice of an archangel and with the trump of God…”
Heaven is also full of activity and excitement. We need to get ready for it! We do that by reading about it in God’s Word; His revelation to us concerning our past, our present, and our future. Preparations are being made for our arrival. Praise the Lord! Jesus is praying for us there. Hebrews 7:23 “..as our great High Priest He lives forever to make intercession for us..” A great building program is underway; mansions are being built, and a wedding is being planned. Revelation 19:9 says “Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb…”
Heaven is where we’re heading, let’s be ready. Jesus said, “Whoever hears these words of mine, and does them I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on a rock…” Matthew 7:24
