The Joy of Togetherness

God, because of His great mercy and love, has:
“Made us alive together” “Raised us up together” “Made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus” – Ephesians 2 v4-6.

We are also being: “fitted together” and being “built together” – Ephesians 2 v21-22.

What joy! This is the spiritual aspect of the church; the real church! Of people that love God, love each other, and understand His great provision of forgiveness, salvation, and healing in His Son Jesus. With the word ‘together’ Paul points to a spiritual position that has practical aspects. This was a real need in the church at Ephesus. Jews and non-Jew church members were having a real problem relating to each other even though they were all believers.

George’s ministry on ‘Togetherness’ last week was most effectively illustrated by the jigsaw puzzle piece. It had to be found and fitted in so that the full picture could be seen and appreciated.

It’s our togetherness that testifies to the world of God’s grace and forgiveness in our lives. Following George’s exhortation, let’s get ready to be together again. Praise Him “who is able to do more exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or even think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church to all generations forever and ever. Amen” – Ephesians 3 v20-21.

Ephesians 2 v21 – says that we are ‘fitted’ together. Before ever we were born, God the Father knew us. He knew how and when we would come to Him, and how and where we would fit in. In fact, in His mind and plan, we were already fitted into the building to fulfil a vital ministry of prayer, worship, and encouragement. We need to be together as often as we can, as close as we can, and as many as we can; taking advantage of every occasion to demonstrate the spiritual truth of our togetherness. We are blessed and encouraged as heavenly truths are manifest through the joy of our togetherness.

Be blessed with heaven’s best,

Eddie.
