This morning George continued with our 2020 theme looking at Philippians chapter 3, he spoke from verses 10, 12 & 13 on the subject “Consider Your Status”.
“10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead.”
Paul makes the statement in v12 that he “hasn’t got there yet” – if we acknowledge that we can work through the following steps to move forward:
- Where am I?
- What is your call on my life
- What is my mission to obtain that call?
We have to make a decision to cut off what has happened in the past, “I know that I haven’t got there yet, but I will press on towards what you have in store for me in the future”. We have to make a conscious decision to move forward.
